It’s no surprise that the end of the year is today. The past month has flown by.  This year was a magical blur full of so many emotions. In yearly tradition, here is a photo recap of 2011. (And my 2010 recap, for your perusal.)

January 2011

– Signed up for my 2nd Team In Training 100 mile bike ride around Lake Tahoe.

– Spent a fabulous week with my colleagues in Las Vegas.

– Newborn photoshoot for precious Noah

February 2011

– Snowpocalypse in the Driftless

– Mexico Vacation

March 2011

– Begin training for America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride

– Purchase my new camera body & lenses. Start playing around with macro photography.

– Learn an important lesson from our oldest dog

April 2011

-Crazy warm spring weather

– Graduation photoshoot for Kenzie

May 2011

– Adorable photoshoot for Addie & family

– My graduation from the Medical College of Wisconsin!

June 2011

– Bike 100 miles around Lake Tahoe for TNT. Raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Experience snow in June.

– Celebrate my 28th birthday

– Top secret project with TNT mentor & friend, Dano

– Spend time in NYC and New Jersey

July 2011

– Spend time with family & friends. Enjoy Governor Dodge in our ‘backyard’

– Kayak around the Lake Superior Sea Caves

August 2011

– Photograph some adorable kids

– Begin the longest deck project e.v.e.r.

– Meet the wildlife in our backyard

– Urban session in Madison

September 2011

– Experience Ironman Wisconsin with front row seats. 5am in downtown Madison was electric.

– Photography workshop/getaway to Bayfield & Apostle Islands. Sailing. Good food. Goal setting for 2012.

October 2011

– The wedding of the beautiful Allie & charming Dan, all the way from London.

– Enjoying Madison sunrises and bird banding at the Biocore Prairie

– Meeting my cousin’s new baby

– Spending a week in my new favorite city, San Francisco

– Family sessions with some adorable lil boys

November 2011

– More family portraits for friends & family

December 2011

– Spent a week in San Diego

– Had LASIK eye surgery

– Had 20/15 vision the following day and walked outside to this…

– Celebrated the holidays with family & lots of pups

– Photographed my childhood babysitter & her precious daughters

– Enjoyed my time off by going on photo adventures in the back field

– Spent an unseasonably warm day with the beautiful Lynn & Addie

Looking through all of these photos and reliving the memories has left me feeling a bit nostalgic, but equally as excited for what’s to come in 2012!

Plans:

Birkie in February {please, oh please, SNOW already!}

A miniscule chance of going to the Galapagos in March-April. If not this year, next year…it’s an annual trip with UW. On our bucket list!

Spending my 29th birthday & summer solstice {my favorite day of the year} in Austria & Italy !!!

Weddings of close friends {I can’t wait to capture your big days!}

Meeting new people/clients who will undoubtedly become friends {my favorite part of this whole photography gig} 🙂

Continue to grow and evolve in my photography. This recap has helped me notice how my skills have changed in one short year. I can’t wait to see what I learn in 2012!

Take more risks. Challenge myself. Make mistakes and learn from them.

Make a difference in people’s lives. Smile often. Laugh a lot. Spread my optimism. Share the love.

Capture the memories and emotions wherever this amazing, beautiful, crazy life takes me. Embrace change. Go out and live life to the fullest.
