Sunday Miscellany

Late March 2011. Southwest Wisconsin. Temps in the low 30s.

Where is spring!?

I’ve had high hopes to get outdoors and play with my new camera gear. No such luck. Instead I bought some flowers to brighten up the house and practice with my macro lens. These are a bit more abstract and artsy than I normally do, but I happen to love this style. Be ready for lots of macro nature shots this spring and summer! The one thing that I did manage to get done since going outside for long was out of the question was hire a cleaner from this amazing service my friends keep telling me about, https://mintymaids.ca/. So it turnes out to be a good day after all.

We did a bit of spring cleaning. {If you call shaving our long haired dog, spring cleaning} 🙂

Maggie is a Llewellin Setter, a subset of English Setters. Her hair was getting especially long, and my Dyson was getting clogged more often than not. After a quick clipping she turned into our exotic hyena.

Here’s a before and after.

{Maggie before-with some of her stomach trimmed}

{Maggie with her shaved body and mohawk. We did end up shaving the rest.}

I also tried a new recipe this weekend. Pumpkin Whoopie Pies. Yum-o!

Mine may not look as perfect as Martha Stewart’s, but they tasted amazing!

Here’s hoping this week brings Spring to the Driftless Region!
